How we make money

If you cannot see how a health site is paid, assume the worst. So here is all of it.

Commission on products

When you buy something through a link here, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. It is disclosed at every link, not buried on this page. Grades are decided before commercial terms are looked at, which is why several things on this site are graded weak and carry no buy button at all.

Referral fees for consultations and therapy

When you book a consultation or we refer you to a therapy service, we may receive a fee. This is why it matters that we never tell you that you need a doctor in order to increase a fee. Our assistant is built so that pages about understanding your symptoms carry no commercial call to action of any kind.

Things we sell ourselves

Guides, programmes and books that we write. When it is ours, we say so.

What we do not do

  • We take no margin on any medication. Not now, not later. We will point you to the cheapest legitimate pharmacy and earn nothing from it.
  • We do not sell advertising against symptom or treatment content.
  • We do not run a general supplement shop. An audit of the twenty best sellers in this category found most make claims their ingredients do not support. Selling into that while criticising it would make us part of the problem.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not keep a symptom record tied to your name, and we run no advertising pixels anywhere on this site, not on the assessment, not anywhere.
  • We do not place products on the assessment, on symptom pages, or in any conversation with the assistant about what might be happening to you.

If we get this wrong
